Description
A varied collection of printed ephemera and books comprising three distinct items. The primary piece is a large-format hardcover volume titled Portfolio of Photographs of Famous Scenes, Cities and Paintings by John L. Stoddard, published by The Werner Company of Chicago, circa 1894. This Victorian-era publication features numerous photographic reproductions of global landmarks and artworks, and includes a handwritten ink inscription to the flyleaf reading This Book is the property of Percy Taylor Mead. Accompanying this is a modern music periodical titled The History of Rock 1, part of a definitive series documenting the history of the genre, featuring a glossy cover with a shirtless male performer. The third item is a small, rectangular vintage paper-wrapped booklet or box with printed text for Austin’s of Leeds, appearing to be a regional directory or promotional ephemera.
