An elegant mid-20th century decorative rotary telephone manufactured by Telart in Viareggio, Italy. The piece features a substantial cabinet and handset handle crafted from polished variegated onyx with natural tones of cream, green, and ochre. The cradle, base, and dial housing are constructed from gold-toned brass-plated metal, typical of the “decorator” style popularised in the 1960s and 1970s. The handset is finished with black plastic mouth and earpieces. This model represents the high-end Italian craftsmanship of the era, designed to serve as both a functional communication device and a luxurious interior accessory.
