Lot 266:
A Pair of Art Nouveau Bohemian Uranium Glass Salt Cellars in Enamelled Mounts by Bommet
Description
A pair of late 19th to early 20th-century circular salt cellars featuring thick-walled yellowish-green uranium glass liners, attributed to the Bohemian glassworks of Loetz. The glass inserts are housed within decorative metal mounts, likely brass or bronze, featuring a repeating scale-like pattern of red and white enamel against a textured gold-tone ground. Each vessel is raised on three integrated tripod feet. The undersides of the metal frames are stamped with the maker mark BOMMET and the alphanumeric code A.S.P.S.O.K. These pieces represent the Art Nouveau style, combining the characteristic glow of uranium glass with detailed enamelled metalwork. Measurements: Approximately 4cm diameter.
