Description
A comprehensive early 20th-century silver-plated canteen of cutlery by the renowned makers Elkington & Co. The collection is presented in a substantial multi-tier oak case, featuring a hinged lid and a single lower drawer. The exterior of the case is fitted with brass-tone flush-mount side handles, a central keyhole, and a vacant brass cartouche to the lid, suitable for engraving. The interior is lined with protective grey felt and features designated slots for a full service. The set comprises silver-plated spoons and forks in a classic pattern, alongside knives and a three-piece carving set featuring cream-coloured composite handles and stainless steel blades. The assortment includes table forks, dessert forks, soup spoons, dessert spoons, tea spoons, and serving implements. Case measures approximately 46 cm x 33 cm x 18 cm.
