A Collection of Polished Mineral Specimens, Semi-Precious Stone Carvings, and Art Glass Paperweights
Description
A varied collection of decorative objects comprising polished mineral specimens and art glass. The group includes a turned onyx vase of baluster form, two geometric polyhedral carvings in banded onyx, and a freeform malachite slab displaying characteristic botryoidal banding. Further stone items include a sliced blue agate geode section, a dark stone egg featuring a fossilised orthoceras, and several polished spheres and eggs in various stones including carnelian, jasper, tiger’s eye, and banded agate. The collection is completed by two art glass paperweights: one featuring a green floral internal motif and the other containing multicoloured glass inclusions. The items showcase a range of lapidary techniques including turning, carving, and high-lustre polishing. Tray measures approximately 38 cm in width; vase height approximately 14 cm.
