An Art Deco W.H. Grindley Cream Petal Ceramic Tea and Tableware Service in The Balmoral Pattern
Description
A collection of English earthenware produced by W.H. Grindley and Co. Ltd. of Staffordshire, featuring the manufacturer’s signature Cream Petal body. The service is decorated in the Art Deco style with The Balmoral pattern, characterised by a geometric border in shades of cobalt blue and ochre, accented by gilt-edged scalloped rims. The assembly includes two large circular serving plates, a cream jug, a small open bowl, six teacups, and twelve matching saucers. The pieces bear the multi-coloured shield-shaped maker’s mark to the underside, typical of the firm’s production during the 1930s and 1940s. Large plates approximately 26 cm diameter; cream jug 9 cm height.
