Description

A fine late 19th or early 20th-century washer or segmented walking stick. The handle is carved from natural horn in a classic crook form, displaying attractive translucent honey and amber tones. The shaft is meticulously constructed from numerous stacked circular segments of alternating horn and bone, creating a distinctive banded aesthetic. The upper six inches of the shaft are further embellished with intricate decorative scrolling pewter inlay, with segments divided by thin pewter spacer washers. This is a traditional solid walking stick without internal mechanisms. Length: 91 cm.
