Highlands 31-Day Mechanical Wall Clock, Late 20th Century
Description
A traditional wall clock by Highlands, featuring a 31-day mechanical spring-driven movement. The clock is housed in a wooden case with a warm mahogany-style finish, designed with a distinctive peaked pediment top and decorative turned wood pilasters at the four corners. The front glazed door is embellished with a gold-coloured border, revealing a visible circular brass-toned pendulum bob. The off-white circular dial displays black Roman numeral hour markers and ornate black metal hands, with the Highlands brand name clearly printed. The movement includes two winding arbors, indicating a strike-and-time mechanism, likely sounding on the hour and half-hour on a coil gong. Dimensions: Approximately 23–24 inches in height.
