Collection of Vintage Petroliana and Automobilia including Esso, Duckhams, and Filtrate, mid-20th Century
Description
A comprehensive assembly of vintage industrial and automotive garage collectibles. The lot comprises four motor oil containers: one lithographed Esso Extra 20W-50 multigrade motor oil tin featuring the classic red and blue oval branding; two 1-gallon Duckhams motor oil tins finished in the traditional yellow and blue livery with the stylized Q logo; and a large 5-gallon industrial motor oil drum for Filtrate Super 20W/50, a brand of Edward Joy and Sons. Also included are two vintage paraffin-fuelled industrial pressure heaters or work lamps, featuring circular metal reflectors and heavy metal bases. The collection is completed by a vintage half-shell motorcycle or racing helmet, often referred to as a pudding basin style, featuring a leather peak, ear flaps, and a central crest.
