An Edwardian Sheraton Revival Mahogany Occasional Table and a Two-Tier Etagere Stand
Description
A complementary pair of mahogany occasional tables in the Edwardian Sheraton Revival style, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1910. The first piece is a circular-topped occasional table featuring an inset leather surface secured with a decorative brass nailhead border. It is supported by four slender square-tapered legs which are united by a small circular undershelf. The second piece is a taller, two-tiered etagere or stand, featuring two solid mahogany circular surfaces connected by matching tapered legs. Both items are constructed from mahogany with a warm, dark finish. These pieces exemplify the refined and lightweight aesthetic of the Sheraton Revival period, designed for use in a formal drawing room or parlour. No maker’s marks or labels are present. Table: 72cm high, 61cm diameter. Stand: 85cm high, 32cm diameter.
