Zaphir, A Pair of Spanish Porcelain Figurines of Children in Nightwear
Description
A pair of glazed porcelain figurines produced by Zaphir, a brand established by Lladro sculptor Jose Puche and a predecessor to the Nao by Lladro line. The first figure depicts a seated child in a nightgown holding a small bowl, a design closely related to Lladro model 4523, often referred to as Little Girl with Slippers. The second figure features a reclining child in a prayerful pose. Both pieces exhibit the muted colour palette and elongated features characteristic of high-quality Spanish porcelain from the 1970s. Each base carries the green underglaze factory mark Zaphir MADE IN SPAIN and impressed alphanumeric marks including 7L. Seated figure: 14 cm wide; Reclining figure: 20 cm long.
