A Mixed Collection of Animal Figurines and Glassware, including Carved Wood and Nativity-style Figures, 20th Century
Description
This eclectic grouping comprises several animal miniatures and a small glass vessel. The collection features a hand-carved wooden bird figure, possibly a pheasant or similar game bird, set upon a black-lacquered base embellished with gold foliate motifs. Accompanying this are various molded resin or plastic animal figures, including a ginger and white domestic cat, a donkey, a recumbent sheep, a lamb, a seal, and a miniature dark-coloured dog. Several of these figures, notably the donkey and sheep, are consistent with traditional nativity scene accessories and farm sets. The lot is completed by a small, clear glass bottle with a faceted base and a tapered neck. The figures vary in style from folk art to realistic commercial toy production similar to Schleich or Safari Ltd. The wooden bird stands approximately 10 cm high, the cat measures 8 cm in length, and the glass bottle is 6 cm in height.
