A Lladro Glazed Porcelain Figurine, 'Making Paella', Model No. 5254
Description
A fine Lladro glazed porcelain figurine titled ‘Making Paella’ (alternatively known as ‘Miss Valencia’), model number 5254, designed by Juan Huerta. The piece depicts a young woman in traditional Valencian regional attire, featuring an intricate lace-effect bodice and a floral-patterned skirt rendered in the characteristic Lladro palette of soft grey, cream, and pale pink tones. She is posed holding a blue and white floral-decorated pitcher beside a large paella pan. The underside bears the blue Lladro factory backstamp, ‘HAND MADE IN SPAIN’, and ‘© DAISA 1984’, alongside incised alphanumeric markings ‘S-5 A D.’ and ‘4 11 S h.’ This model was originally issued in 1984 and retired in 1994. Height: approximately 21 cm.
