A Collection of Four Franklin Mint Porcelain Bird Vases by Basil Ede
Description
A set of four fine white porcelain vases of ovoid form, produced by Franklin Porcelain for the Franklin Mint circa 1980. Each vase features a detailed polychrome transfer-printed design by the renowned British ornithological artist Basil Ede. The collection comprises The Marshland Bird Vase, The Meadowland Bird Vase, The Woodland Bird Vase, and The Garden Bird Vase, depicting various avian species including a heron, goldfinch, and hummingbird amongst seasonal flora. Each piece is finished with a hand-applied 24-carat gold-rimmed neck. The lot is accompanied by the original descriptive brochures and fitted dark wood display plinths. Vases measure approximately 29 cm in height including the plinth.
