Description

A varied collection of eight decorative ceramic and porcelain pieces, attributed to the Japanese export market of the mid-20th century. The lot comprises two Staffordshire-style figural groups, including a large flatback depicting a woman on horseback with three children in military attire, and a character group featuring a gentleman in a top hat. The collection further includes a cylindrical lidded canister and a lobed lidded dish, both featuring floral transfer-printed designs and gilded highlights. Completing the lot are three egg-shaped porcelain trinket boxes with hinged metal mounts and a circular souvenir box depicting the ship Queen Victoria. These items represent the Occupied Japan era style influenced by traditional Victorian earthenware. Heights range from approximately 3 cm to 25 cm.
