A Walter Moorcroft 'Hibiscus' Pedestal Bowl
Description
A Walter Moorcroft ‘Hibiscus’ pedestal bowl. This glazed ceramic footed bowl features a wide, shallow basin supported by a dark, glazed stem and base. The interior of the basin is decorated with a vibrant, hand-painted botanical design of stylized hibiscus flowers and leaves on a deep forest green ground, rendered in shades of red, yellow, brown, and lighter green. The underside of the unglazed white ceramic foot is marked with an oval “MOORCROFT” sticker, printed “MADE IN ENGLAND” text, and a hand-painted blue/green “WM” monogram, consistent with Walter Moorcroft’s signature, and a possible numeral “5” or “S”.
