A Victorian Silver Ornate Footed Stand
Description
Crafted from silver, this circular footed stand features a beaded upper rim. An openwork frieze incorporates scrolling foliage and classical mask motifs. It is supported by three decorative cabriole legs terminating in stylized hoof feet. Visible hallmarks on the rim include a lion passant, an anchor (Birmingham assay office), a monarch’s head (Queen Victoria’s duty mark), and the date letter ‘Q’, indicating British sterling silver, likely assayed in Birmingham, circa 1865-66.
